1. When I tell you that I have clammy hands and that is the reason for my water damage sticker being discolored rather than me dropping my phone in a toilet, STOP CALLING ME A LIAR AND TELLING ME THAT THIS TYPE OF "PHONE DAMAGE" IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY!!! The only thing that seems to be water logged in this scenario is your customer service rep's brain. Clearly.
2. When a little punk kid steals my phone and downloads all sorts of games and pictures DO NOT CALL ME A LIAR AND STILL CHARGE ME FOR THE DAMN THINGS!!! If I report a phone stolen and go through all the trouble to file a stinking police report, and pictures of 14 year old Latina girls start showing up on my phone, it's a safe bet that IT'S NOT ME, YOU RETARDS! Get with the program already.
3. If I go over my minutes because my grandmother is in the hospital practically dying and I'm having to call all my friends five times a day for moral support, GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK!!! It's not the end of the world if you're out a piddly $200. I on the other hand am a broke-ass law student trying to make ends meet on a very meager salary and I have to pay $10 a day for hospital parking so I can watch someone I love rapidly deteriorate. It's okay to something good once in awhile. I know it's a foreign feeling but deal with it. It will only benefit you in the long run.
Having said all that (I should note that I feel a ton better), does anyone have any suggestions for me as to potential replacement cell phone providers? I'm leaning towards Cingular since the office is under contract with them and I get discounted everything, but I'm not sure how reliable their service is or how pleasant customer service reps are for that company. Also, I'm not even sure that I'll get hired with the office at this point. Any tips would appreciated.

Cingular is not bad - I've been w/ them since I was in high school. Reception is pretty realiable, although some parts of my street get fuzzy. But I can carry conversations even in elevators.
Check out the consumer report website for detailed info on company history and customer satisfaction.
i think i heard either cingular or nextel have these hard to make out statements
tmobile's razr is shitty and their service is in and out
verizon i liked. they had good customer service, good connection, reliable. i'll go back to them after my contract with tmobile is up

Love the blog! Ranting is good for the soul. That being said, please let me reciprocate:
Wow. What is up with the defensive T-Mobile employee who feels compelled to roam the 'net looking for those spreading "malicious lies" about his/her employer?! [Actually, I am quite sure T-MO actually pays people to spend their day doing this.]
Having been unceremoniously dismissed from their service after eight years of loyalty (b/c we moved to a new state and didn't think to re-up our contract). So - we are some of those "excessive roamers"! Damn, T-Mobile! You go where the work is! And - it's not like T-Mobile isn't earning fees from other companies on the outside usage for those other carriers' roamers!
I am finding, however, that the cost of switching is DAMN expensive. T-Mobile was a great rate, reasonable coverage, nice customer reps (most of the time, but... loyalty didn't pay off for us. (Or the service -men and -women who use T-Mobile!!! Nice. Very patriotic, T-Mo!)
And - back to the T-Mobile person out there so staunchly defending the company...if you are going to represent the company, they might appreciate if you learned how to separate thoughts via punctuation. Oh - and - learn how to use a dictionary!
Oh - one more thing:
If I believed in reincarnation, I would want to come back to this world as one of those 19 year old customer service reps...oh! I am sorry... SALES reps in the cellular store that KNOWS EVERYTHING!
Don't switch to Verizon they are the trashiest. Different representatives will tell you different things. I feel no one is a good service provider these days
I admit I hate them too!

First of all, all cell phone companies are awful. Honestly, which one haven't you heard bad things about? I've heard terrible things about them all.
However, although now many moons ago, this was your irresponsible fault. a.) Your palm sweat is not a manufacturer defect. Let alone... you're dripping sweat that leaks into the phone? Really? Even if it does, that's not LG's, RIM's, Motorola's, Nokia's, or any other manufacturers fault. Warranties only cover manufacturer defects. Get phone insurance if you break your stuff. b.) You lost your phone. Sucks that the certain rep wouldn't credit your account. That was probably the individual person you were talking to that vetoed your credit. Sucks to be you there. And lastly c.) you agreed to a minute plan. You agreed to the overages that go with that minute plan. You went over your agreed-to minutes. And you want them to be lenient? You want them to break their contract agreement, and credit you for your dumb? That's not how that works in any business agreement. If you accidentally left the lights on all day, do you complain to the electric company in order to give you a break? If you need to drive around town more for a family emergency, do you ask the gas station for a courtesy tank of gas? ...No. Monitor your minutes carefully! Or get an unlimited plan if you're going to be irresponsible.
I've worked within the wireless industry for some time. I've worked for 3 of the 4 major US carriers (sadly). I'm not going to say who I work for now. But all carriers have the same policies. It mostly depends on who you talk to over the phone first - AKA: the note taker or memo writer. If you unfortunately catch them after a blood-boiling bad service call or over a bad day, you may be in for it. Or if you cop an attitude to the rep out of the gates; forget about it. If they're leaving notes on your account, the next rep you talk to will read them and could get equally as defensive. It's best to be a friendly and courteous to the 1st rep as possible to achieve the best results. Their notes are your key.
But I'll say this - Verizon and T-Mobile both tie at #1 with JD Power customer care performance.
I'm not necessarily defending T-Mobile. I'm mostly defending cell phone companies in general. Sure service agreements and contracts are confusing. But if they're too confusing to you, get a home phone or some cans with string. Stop signing contracts you can't uphold your end of the bargain on! That's pretty much it.
T-Mobile are a bunch of crooks. Never walk into the branch at 110 Oxford Street London, W1. It is run by a bunch of thugs from the same ethnic group, who discuss in their own language and flog people lousy contracts. If you then return the Deputy Manager (Harms) will through you out of the store for complaining in an aggressive manner. They are a bunch of criminals.
